GCA Coffee Alliance – Sustainable Vietnam, Global Prosperity

By initiating the Global Coffee Alliance (GCA), promoting activities that integrate culture, tourism, and cuisine in Lam Dong, organizing international forums, and driving digital transformation in processing, King Coffee is taking proactive steps to gradually establish its brand presence within the global value chain.

While many enterprises focus their resources on enhancing competitiveness within existing markets, King Coffee has chosen an approach centered on reshaping the structure of trade relations. The Global Coffee Alliance (GCA)—announced in Da Lat in late 2025 and officially launched in Hanoi on March 26, 2026—represents a bold, transformative initiative by Vietnam’s leading coffee brand. Bringing together diplomatic delegations, experts, and businesses to share insights, consult, and establish shared values and commitments, this marks the first time a coffee corporation has created a unified platform that empowers member nations to have a stronger voice within the global supply chain.

The foundation of GCA stems from an initiative by King Coffee Group leadership, who candidly identified existing shortcomings in the domestic coffee sector. These include the failure of Vietnamese Robusta to fully leverage its potential and strengths as a strategic product line, as well as global supply chain negotiation dynamics that disadvantage producing nations. Recognizing that a single enterprise could not single-handedly alter the established order of the supply chain, the alliance was formed to reinforce critical links in production and marketing; it creates a platform for businesses from producing countries to coordinate their actions, rather than competing in a fragmented manner and collectively facing downward price pressure.

The GCA Alliance’s standout strength lies in its ability to combine the stature of diplomats with the operational capabilities of businesses. The GCA 2026 Declaration commits to protecting ecosystems and regenerative agriculture, ensuring fair livelihoods for farmers, fostering diplomatic-business collaboration, driving innovation and knowledge sharing, promoting coffee culture, and working toward a coffee ecosystem based on the circular economy—all of which reflect a long-term vision focused on strategic interests. Success in these endeavors would yield benefits extending far beyond immediate revenue, encompassing brand value, partnerships, and long-term standing.

To spearhead the GCA initiative, King Coffee had laid the groundwork years in advance. The brand already has a presence in over 120 countries, with established distribution channels including Costco, Carrefour, Amazon, and Alibaba. The company also pursues market-specific strategies, such as developing Halal-certified products for Muslim markets, forming joint ventures in Laos and Timor-Leste, and rolling out franchise operations across various countries.

At the international coffee conference held alongside the Global Coffee Heritage Festival in December 2026, King Coffee proposed a major long-term project spanning 2025–2040, featuring components such as a coffee trading exchange, ESG-compliant cultivation zones, and a coffee tourism ecosystem. Although in its early stages, the project reflects an ambition to establish pillars that will usher in a new chapter for the coffee industry's century-long history.

Like any multinational alliance, once the GCA pursues its long-term objectives, it will face challenges regarding operational mechanisms, financial resources, and the sustained commitment of its members.

The gap between declarations and actual outcomes serves as a test of the aspirations to meet set objectives—such as connecting tens of millions of "coffee citizens," significantly boosting farmers' incomes, and powerfully promoting world-class coffee brands. These goals will only hold real meaning once concrete implementation mechanisms are enacted and promptly put into effect.

Highly acclaimed and backed by the consensus of its 19 members, the GCA Alliance has underscored King Coffee’s commitment to organizing events, as well as the company’s confident leadership and steadfast resilience amidst the volatile global marketplace.

On March 26, 2026, within the framework of the International Coffee Conference held in Hanoi, the Global Coffee Alliance (GCA) was officially launched, aiming to foster sustainable development and prosperity for the coffee industry in Vietnam and worldwide. Initiated and hosted by TNI King Coffee, the event underscored the growing stature and appeal of Vietnamese coffee on the global stage.

According to Ms. Le Hoang Diep Thao, Founder and CEO of King Coffee, GCA Hanoi 2026 goes beyond mere dialogue; it marks the starting point of a new collaborative journey where the power of diplomatic connectivity and the private sector's execution capabilities converge within a pioneering public-private partnership platform.
